Our Story
Palm Springs Bottle Shop’s story began during the pandemic. Chris and David had relocated to Palm Springs from San Francisco, and met up for drinks with friends Gillian and Sierra who had come to visit the city. Over a cocktail, we looked around and started lamenting the lack of interesting wine/liquor shops in town, and the lack of access to the great LGBTQ+, BIPOC, and Women run brands we knew were on the market. This larger issue goes beyond Palm Springs, but we decided that this was a great place to start, and we formed a partnership and created a plan.
2021
Over the next few months, we began to explore options and developed the idea of a shop that featured those products.
In the spring of 2021, we were offered a space inside of a new retail experience, a new and thriving “modern department store” called Mojave Flea Trading Post in downtown Palm Springs.
2022-2023
We spent 2022 and 2023 growing our business by:
expanding our initial store space at Mojave Flea Trading
opening a Tasting Room
building partenrships and collaborations with the Palm Springs Art Museum, Palm Springs Pride, Desert X, Idyllwild Pride, Splash House music festival, and many more
opening a second location at MarketMarket
launching a new beer and wine festival (LowDezFest) featuring LGBTQ+, Women, and BIPOC producers
2024 & Beyond!
We plan to expand by opening additional shops in California and beyond, with an ultimate plan to franchise and offer franchise opportunities to communities and individuals who have not previously had access to business ownership.
Palm Springs Bottle Shop is committed to socially conscious shopping.
We give our customers the ability to shop with their ideals in mind. So whether they are looking for a chillable red for dinner, looking for something perfect for the pool, or prioritizing their values by shopping BIPOC/Women/LGBTQ/Disabled/Socially Responsible Produced, we have them covered.
